What is CT?

Imagine your body as a loaf of bread. You could examine each slice of bread without removing it from the loaf.  

CT stands for Computed Tomography: Used to obtain detailed information about strokes, brain tumors, bleeding, appendicitis, diverticulitis and various cancers.

A CT scanner shows body tissues and conditions that do not show up on routine x-rays.
